The leather, original, on the corners was worn, now restored; spine worn on hinges and re-colored; new gilt titles on 3 red skivers; cloth re-colored. All pages somewhat yellowed; mostly free from foxing except for the plates which are all considerably foxed as are the facing pages. Edges speckled but top edge faded. There is no way of knowing the date of publication of this edition but the closest edition listed on Abe claims a date circa 1850, which seems to be applicable to this edition. First Edition thus.
