PARTS IV and V are MISSING. The date 1860 is from a previous owner’s inscription. There were a variety of bindings and apparently a choice of a number of maps and engraved plates on offer. The max no of maps found is 8 and the maximum plates apparently 64. Our 6 parts have a total of x maps and y plates. All spines are complete but worn at heads and tails ; the gold illustrations on the spines are only very slightly dull, those on the front bright and only slightly rubbed; all corners are slightly worn and bumped. Price quoted is for 6 Parts but parts are saleable at R360 each (approx US $ 21).
