Waugh in Abyssinia

R750.00

From the Library of Somerset East with only the stamp on the spine to show provenance; cloth on spine has been re-coloured and somewhat torn over 30mm.  An interesting view of of the Abyssinia Crisis of the 1930s. This work caused controversy upon publication. Some people considered it too supportive of the Italian Fascists. Together with the fact that E W missed a story of F W Rickett wining a huge mineral concession from Haile Selassie, his sympathies for the Italians might have led to E W being sacked by his newspaper.

Ex Libris card to inside front cover. No illustrations. Covered in adhesive plastic.
