Head and tail of spine have been reinforced inside the chanel; top edge of bookblock has been re-coloured; title on spine is only slightly dull. Frontispiece is a tipped-in portrait of Jameson; NO half title. Title page; contents and list of illustrations, 96 b&w drawings, some full page plates, most in text; prelims total xxxiii pages including errata; 455 pages; folding map in colour of Congo River from Stanley Falls to Kassongo in two sections complete and Fine.
