The Swahili language, in its proper grammatical form, is not that simple. This mainly spoken along the East African Coast by the indigenous people of Arab origin, on the island of Zanzibar and in Tanzania. In the Kenyan hinterland a more simplified Swahili, known as Up-Country Swahili is spoken, which is easily learnt by Europeans and by the indigenous people who speak various dialects, hence this dictionary is Simplified Swahili.
