Spine was Missing, now replaced with new cloth and most of the original title. Map of Lucknow is Present but repaired. The cloth has been re-coloured in an attempt to match that of Vol II. The book block is yellowed with some intermittent foxing; edges browned. Frontis plus 2 tinted lithographs, no list. XVIII Chapters with breakdown of contents of Chapters but no Chapter headings. An ex-library copy with all stamps, labels removed except a blind stamp on title page, Fitchburg Public Library. Please see our listings for Vol II and more on William Howard Russell. On request, both vols I and II can be rebound uniformly to the customer’s specifications but the two vols are not equal in size so vol II will have to be trimmed.
