CAPTIONS COURAGEOUS
R200.00
or COMMENTS FROM THE GALLERY
Here is the courageous, really the outrageous, in art. For the very first time, someone has had the brazen temerity to go straight to the art masterpieces of the world for their own comments.
Instead of leaving art in the hands of dealers and dilettantes, historians and critics the authors, cutting through the middleman’s meddling in art have consulted the paintings and the statues and recorded their words in hilarious new captions.
Does the Thinker have a problem? And George Washington, how does he feel waiting for Gilbert Stuart to return and finish his portrait? And the Leaning Tower of Pisa, how ’bout that move? Here at last are the answers to what you truly want to know, the unbiased story of the great art treasures, revealed by the only ones who know, the treasures themselves.
Here you are behind the scenes of great moments in the history of art. And if the truth confounds you, it’s a good parlor game, go on and make up your own Captions Courageous. Warning This is definitely not for maiden aunts.
