London: Murray,, 1841. “Derived from a Comparison of the Paintings, Sculptures, and Monuments Still Existing, with the Accounts of Ancient Authors”. All 3 vols have spines damaged and had missing portions, now restored. Spines have have gold cupped “lilies” with ” fruits” in the cup. The front covers in gold show a stylised royal ark on a plinth, slightly rubbed. The edges are NOTworn and the corners are only very slightly bumped or not at all. Vol I has a label of “Rev Francis Goddard of Writhlington” and the other 2 Vols have his signature in ink. VOL I : xxix plus Errata p plus 444pp; vignettes in the text from # K; text figures from #436 to 456a. VOL II : xxxv plus Errata p plus 483pp; Text Figures go to #504. VOL III : xi, plates from #18 to #88; plates 73 & 74 have been moved “elsewhere” i e #24a and 46a respectively; plate #75 MISSING /appears to have been torn out; 37pp Index plus 13pp adverts.
