Book has 25x18mm chip replaced on tail; spine frittered and strengthened on verso; title page foxed and light foxing in the form of spots in margins; front inside hinge split, now repaired; 2 nicks on the margins of the extended covers. The leather covers, which extend over the edges of the book could be trimmed back. Book has elaborate gold embellishments and title on front & elaborate initials of the author front and rear. All edges gilt. Frontis plus 41 full page illustrations, both cartoon-type drawings & tipped-in photos in sepia; errata slip; 101 pages in total. A very good copy of a rare travel book. No publication date, but 1911; the date 1908 at the end of the book most probably refers to when the manuscript was written. First Edition Presumed. This copy is #70 of 250. Limp Suede Leather. Liberty was of French extraction and the founder of the London Dept store, which bore his name. Covered in archival plastic.
